The story about our Pickled Green Beans
For almost half a decade now, food conscious owners Jared and Sara Forsythe (owners of Adventure Missoula and Coeur d’Alene Adventures for the past 14 years) have perfected and concocted an award winning pickled green bean recipe. This year they pickled 78 jars using organic food supply and local harvest. They have also pickled brussel sprouts, cob corn wedges, and cucumbers.
The health benefits of pickles include an exceptional supply of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This has been known to help with sugar levels, diabetes control, improved digestion, liver protection, and a supply of probiotics. Pickles have the ability to help heal ulcers.
You will get to try these famous green beans if you choose to go on a FULL DAY rafting trip with Adventure Missoula or Coeur d’Alene Adventures. They are served as an appetizer during the river-side lunch.
Jared and Sara also grow your lunch vegetable additions on site at the rafting and fishing headquarters located at Cyr Recreation Area 35 minutes west of Missoula. We start them in the biology lab at the high school and then they are transplanted to the top of our retired Surfer Steve bus to grow below the driftwood pergola. It is picked daily for each full day raft trip by our staff!
