Adventure Missoula offers private river trips in the Missoula Montana area for those groups, couples, or small families that wish to go out alone for their adventure.
Private river trips feature everything you will need for your trip. Lunch is included on full days trips. We ask that you let us know about your party during checkout and list your roster of participants since the outings are reserved by ‘trip’ rather than by person. This allows us to know how many people are coming, their ages, and so we can set up the boats and other logistics properly.
All private river trips include: Life Jackets, wet suits if needed for comfort, splash jackets, water shoes, guide, boat, paddles, private shuttle back to your vehicle at our raft shop on the Clark Fork River and private parking. Full days include locally sourced lunch featuring fresh garden grown produce grown on site. Free Shuttle Available for groups in Missoula (arrange in advance). Customers meet at our river shop. Shop is 30 min West of Missoula, Montana or 2 hour drive East from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Trips run March-October, weather permitting. It is required that our private trips arrive 30 minutes before departure for check in. Although this is a private trip, our guides still have shuttle timing in place for your return back to our shop and your car and often have evening jobs to get to. During check in, customers will change, getting fitted for their life jacket, put sunscreen on, buy anything they need in our gift shop, run to the bathroom, listen to a safety talk, and walk 5 minutes down to the waters edge and to our boat that is pre-dropped for departure.
Boats are priced for up to 8 people, please let us know if you have more (we can support up to 12ppl on our larger boats) and you can adjust your numbers during the reservation process.
FULL DAY (Lunch) and HALF DAY (No Lunch) Private Guided Whitewater or Scenic Clark Fork River Trips
Rafting trips run roughly 2-4 hours on the water without lunch and 4-6 hours with lunch and include an additional sandy beach stop to swim during mid summer weather. Same river miles. Water flow, traffic at the take out or put in, and paddling affect timing. Boat time is your own, so enjoy it!
Private Whitewater Lunch Trip March -October Class I, II, III+ ages 6+ (ages 10+ April to Mid June This 15 mile whitewater rafting trip features a private whitewater guide and your family or group of up to 8 guests on a boat and trip of your own separate from others for privacy. Trip includes riverside catered lunch, drinks, shuttle back to our shop, and all gear. Twelve rapids, sandy beaches, a scenic canyon and exciting diverse scenery awaits your group! Trip time runs about 5 hours Free Shuttle Available $940 for boat, up to 8 participants – more can be added up to 12 people.
Private Scenic Lunch Trip March – October Class I and II- ages 4+ (Meets 30 minutes west of Missoula at the river shop) Enjoy a private guided boat trip and private shuttle back to your vehicle for up to 8 people on the Tarkio Canyon and scenic stretch of the Clark Fork River for a 4 to 5 hour river tour (varies due to water flow). Variety of tributaries flow into the river on this stretch making it a beautiful trip. Meet at our shop and we’ll take care of everything for your group. We provide all the gear needed, shuttle back to your vehicle, drinks, and stream side catered lunch half way through your trip on a beach. Private Scenic No Lunch: This trip features the same stretch of river as our full day scenic except that we do not stop for lunch or beach time. Flotillas – Montana family tradition
Family Flotilla River Adventure Half Day with Lunch If you have a large family and it includes youngsters under age 5 or older adults this is your family river adventure. Let the guide do all the work while you have some family time. The Family Flotilla is our go-to for scenic flat water quality time on the legendary Clark Fork River. This trip features a sport boat with coolers where you can station a family member with a child age 2+ or an older family member that needs a comfortable seat. Then, you can add individual (single person) or tandem (2 person) inflatable sit-on-top kayaks, and/or a stand up paddle board to switch out family members to venture from the main raft independently for breaks. You get to guide your own craft while following behind the guided raft down the river for this quintessential Montana family river adventure. $550 Base Price (priced for 4 people) + Stand Up Paddleboards, and Kayaks as add-ons for $75 each for a true Montana flotilla river day.
