Women’s Fishing Groups

Missoula Montana has some excellent women’s fishing groups that offer all kinds of activities and opportunities for meeting new friends, learning new skills and heading out on the water. Most of the links below will take you to the area’s main women’s fishing group weblinks. They tend to use Facebook as their primary organizer.

Each year, Sara Forsythe owner of Adventure Missoula hosts a Missoula Women’s Retreat for gals to get together for a weekend of fun in August on the Lower Clark Fork. See the video Heather Hodson posted from her experience at one of these gatherings.

United Women on the Fly United Women on the Fly (UWOTF) is committed to building an inclusive community that educates, provides resources, encourages, and connects anglers from all backgrounds into the sport of fly fishing. They foster a sense of belonging by centering, valuing and amplifying the voices, perspectives and styles of women. Their focus is on Education and providing women access to gear made just for us! They have a heavy presence on Facebook and social media.  

Missoula Fly Gals – This group is organized mostly by the Facebook platform, and they host outings, educational events, gear deals, fundraisers, and all kinds of wonderful things for and by women. This is the most active women’s fishing group in the Western Montana area.

We also host women’s fly fishing clinics annually in the spring and take sign ups via email. When we have enough sign ups we hold a class. They are usually in April or May.
